PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING OR USING HEADLIGHT GLASSES.
This Safety Disclaimer applies to tinted eyewear sold by Headlight Glasses LLC, including fit-over models intended to be worn over prescription glasses.
Your safety is important to us. Understanding the limitations of tinted eyewear is essential before use.
WARNING: TINTED LENSES REDUCE AVAILABLE VISIBLE LIGHT.
Headlight Glasses use tinted lenses that filter selected wavelengths of light and reduce the total amount of visible light reaching the eyes.
Reduced light transmission can impair the visibility of pedestrians, road markings, traffic signals, vehicles and other potential hazards, especially in low-light conditions.
The current orange-tinted lenses have not been independently established as suitable for nighttime driving. Do not use them for driving at night, dawn, dusk, or in other low-light conditions.
This warning applies even if a user perceives a reduction in the brightness or discomfort associated with particular light sources.
Headlight Glasses are designed to filter selected wavelengths of visible light.
Laboratory measurements may demonstrate attenuation of light at specific wavelengths, including the blue portion of the visible spectrum.
However:
Blocking light at a particular wavelength is not equivalent to reducing total headlight glare by the same percentage.
Reduced perception of brightness does not necessarily mean improved visibility.
Filtering blue light does not establish improved night-driving performance.
The product does not eliminate glare, visual disturbances or the effects of bright light sources.
Individual experiences with tinted eyewear may vary.
Any numerical optical claims should be interpreted only in accordance with their stated measurement conditions and available substantiation.
Visual performance while driving can be affected by lighting, weather, vehicle headlamps, windshield condition, eyesight, prescription eyewear and lens characteristics.
Users must not wear tinted eyewear when it reduces their ability to identify road hazards, pedestrians, signs, traffic signals or other vehicles.
The current orange-tinted Headlight Glasses must not be used for nighttime driving or other low-light driving conditions.
No Headlight Glasses product should be considered suitable for driving merely because it reduces the perceived intensity of headlights or other bright lights.
Do not use the product while driving unless the particular model is appropriate for the prevailing lighting conditions, applicable road-use requirements and any product-specific restrictions.
Always comply with applicable traffic laws and vision requirements.
Certain Headlight Glasses models are designed to fit over existing prescription eyewear.
Fit-over construction does not guarantee compatibility with every prescription frame.
Before use, verify that the product:
Fits securely and comfortably.
Does not displace or damage the prescription glasses underneath.
Does not obstruct necessary peripheral vision.
Does not cause double vision, distortion or visual discomfort.
Does not interfere with the safe performance of intended activities.
Headlight Glasses do not correct refractive errors or replace required prescription eyewear.
Glare sensitivity and impaired nighttime vision may be associated with various conditions, including cataracts, astigmatism, dry eye and other ocular conditions.
Headlight Glasses are not represented as treating, curing or correcting these conditions.
Individuals experiencing persistent glare, halos, starbursts, reduced contrast sensitivity or difficulty seeing in darkness should consult a qualified eye-care professional.
Do not rely on tinted eyewear as a substitute for medical assessment or appropriate vision correction.
Inspect the product before each use.
Discontinue use if the lenses or frames are damaged, scratched, cracked, distorted, loose, warped or otherwise compromised.
Do not modify, remove or replace components in a manner that could change the product's optical characteristics or fit.
Follow any provided cleaning and maintenance instructions.
Avoid using products whose condition interferes with clear vision.
Headlight Glasses are not marketed as industrial safety goggles or occupational protective eyewear.
Unless a particular model is expressly certified and labeled for such use, do not use Headlight Glasses as protection against:
Flying debris or high-energy impacts.
Chemical splashes.
Industrial hazards.
Laser exposure or welding operations.
Other occupational hazards requiring certified protective eyewear.
Lens impact resistance does not mean the eyewear is shatterproof or suitable for industrial eye protection.
Headlight Glasses do not guarantee:
Improved nighttime visibility.
Safer driving.
Prevention of collisions or injuries.
Elimination of headlight glare.
Improved ability to detect road hazards.
Correction or treatment of visual conditions.
The experience of reduced brightness or visual discomfort does not establish that a product improves driving performance.
If you experience unexpected visual distortion, reduced visibility, discomfort, or any suspected product-related safety issue, discontinue use.
